Which mean that Power is control, And I agree with this definition. This year in humanity class we’ve talk lot about power and I think power usually works in two specific ways; ideologically, militarily. I have two examples that show the power is control, they are; Fear of nature, and individuals’ power.

Firstly you can see that power is control if you look at the ancient time. Ancient people believed there is a god and they always feared them and worshiped them. For example they created their own god such as ‘Sun god, and wind god etc’ so by believing them they control themselves from other danger. You can see these happen today. During imperialism when India was under British Empire’s control, Indian people believed in Gandhi’s idea of non - violence and they also worshiped his ideas. By believing this idea that has huge power they could control themselves from the anger and were able to kick out British Empire from their own land. Fear of God also can be superstition, for example, Buddhism and Hinduism believe reincarnation, which is once a person die they will reborn in another form. By believing in this principle that has power of control, people could control themselves and this made their religion stronger. But sometime this fear of nature can have negative effect, for example Russian revolution, Russian citizen believed in different things unlike the Tsar and when Tsar lost power to control many angry citizen it finally lead to Russian Revolution and it ended up by killing Tsar and his family

Secondly, another example you can find is individuals’ power. In WW2 Hitler and Stalin were great dictators; they controlled many people with their persuasive and powerful speeches. Although sometime they used military to force other people to believe in what they believe, their ideas were clear and strong enough to control people. However you can see these examples in Globalization today. Today since Globalization shrunk the world in to the smaller size, more individual company move around the world to advertise that their product is better than others. For example commercial, we do see million and trillion of commercial every day but actually each one of them has individual special powers that control people to buy their products. One last example is cold war. Cold started at the end of the world war 2. Unlike WW2, cold war was more like ideological war. USA and USSAR, the two great super power who believe different principal had to fight for idea. Each one of them spread their idea to country to country, and they propaganda to show citizen that their systems were better. It was all about that the side who gain more control of more country will win this war.

As you can see there were two big example that show the power is control; Fear of nature and individuals’ power.

What is Power?

Net Effect of Globalization

According to the book 'The World is Flat' written by Thomas Friedman, Globialization has effected our life in many good ways. For example, outsourcing has make our life better and easy. He also mentioned that the creation of window and open sourcing has tide world tiny by allowing many people to access internet and share their own idea and opinion. These factors were believed to make world smaller and flat.
It seems like that the globalization is only a good thing. However, Globalization also has dark sides. For example, people in middle level's lifes are getting better although low level people's lifes are getting worst and worst. Since many information that contains unique ideas spread to all over the countriesm, it can ruin some country's culture or their religious belief. As we watched, in '30 days' the guy named 'crise' lost his job because there was foreign worker who could do his job easily in less pay but in better quality.

Three most valuable things i learn during POP

There are three most valuable things i learned during working on Population Project. They are advantage and disadvantage of CNG, and other new alternative fuels. During POP i really worked a lot on these because they were part of my research paper. I'm sure learning more about these facts will affect my future because right now the world citizens are concerning about Global warming and one of the way to reduce the global warming is finding new alternative fuels that would replace fossil fuel which are causing global warming by producing lot of harmful gases. If we don't find better new alternative fuel that reduce harmful gases, our future will be terrible. As i mentioned on my research paper, if we just leave the situation like this, our next generation probably might have to live in special suit with helmet that contains fresh oxygen to help them breath. To avoid this future i think learning about these thing are really helping me to change my future.

Feedback - April 13-17 - Technology and Schools

What are the main visual elements?
A family

What issue is this cartoon about?
Conflict between Technology and school life

What is the cartoonist’s opinion on this issue?
Technology is ruining our next generation's future.

What evidence in the cartoon supports your opinion on how the cartoonist feels?
If you look at the cartoon, the male who seems like father of the kid looks kind of tired and if you look at the dialogue, it starts with 'well,' and this kind of tell us that he knows

Why is this cartoon ironic?
If you just read the first sentence of the dialogue, it sounds like a conversation between boss of the company and one of his worker but if you look at the cartoon, actually the father is talking to his son

How does this cartoon relate to our study of technology and the future?
As we use more technology in school, we talk less to our parent. This idea is mostly use in electronic way and sometime it can be harmful to human. But technology is not only relate to electronic stuff but i think it also relates to other topic such as art, sports, etc.

5 most and 5 least important technologies used today-

5 most
- Computer
- Mobile phone
- Camera
- Refrigerator
- Microwaves

5 least
- Radio
- Old version of disk drive
- Automobile
- I pod
- TV

I think the amount of technology we use in AES is not that many because during the lunch time there are more people who spend their time at the rock or play sports than spend their time in computer lab. Also when people use computer, most of their reason is to do their homework or to print out something. But the situation will be different once people leave the school; when they leave school, first thing they do is to look up their mobile phone or listen music with their i pod. It not that people are not using enough technology in school but school doesn't allow students to use thier technology much as outside of school.

Vonnegut and Technology

"Bill Gates says, “Wait till you can see what your computer can become.” But it’s you who should be doing the becoming. What you can become is the miracle you were born to work—not the damn fool computer.”"

I agree with him even though I love my my computer. Until now, I thought it was computer and other machines which modernized this world. But sometime I wonder what will happen in the future if this pattern continue. If you watch some movies about robots in the future they are smarter than us and do every thing as we say. But I think this is wrong. As Kurt Vonnegut said it's us who should be doing the becoming, not the technology. In the story 'Harrison Bergeron' in the year 2081 every people have little mental handicap radio in their ear or they are too stupid enough to not recognize their own son. It was their damn technology which made them stupid monkeys who can't even recognize their own son. These technology sometimes also make me stupid monkey. I sometimes I think what if this computer do my all homeworks. In another Vonnegut's story 'The Euphio Question' These stupid people put the signal that make people happy on the radio to earn lot of money. They think those sound make people happy but actually these sound make people old, not only physically but also mentally. Now they become the creature who can't breath even a minute without those sound. Today, technology make many peoples' life easier but in other side they make people fat and they are dehumanizing us!

Feedback March 9-13 - End of Quarter 3 Feedback

My second goal was to improve my reading and writing. To be more specific I planned not to make spelling mistake and make sentence better. But I think my writing skill hadn't improved as much as my reading skill. I think this happened because of my grammar. I missed articles frequently and my sentences always confused reader by putting past, present tense in same situation. If I improve my grammar it will also help me writing a 'POP' research paper.

so my goal for this Quarter is,..... :
- to improve my grammar (Articles, punctuation, tenses)
- do research and get good data for my population project
- finish the population project before the due date. The only thing they do is to believe that their religion is real, important and better than others. But the problem is some religion believes that every people should follow their belief and force other people to believe it. Even after the world war 1, no one expected that Germany would start the war again. Also today nobody is expecting WW3 would happen but I think it's possible to happen. Even though United nation (UN) has stronger power than before (League of the nation) If huge war starts, they will loose their power and they might not be able to stop the war as soon as people hope.
I think war will happen in Israel, war is still happening in Israel, Gaza because after the Holocaust many Jewish people had to find their new shelter and they found the land which is now called 'Israel' but there were already many people who lived in that land so today they are still fighting with each other to get their own land. Right now, not many countries are involved with this war, but if one of the side asking for help to other country and if this situation keep goes on and on, it will lead to the WW3. During WW3, with the modern technology, many people will die. This war will give huge number of victims even much more than world war 2. And many countries will regret about what they've done.

Holocoast reflection

During the discussions, l found that discussion1 was the most meaningful. I felt sorry for Anne Frank because government of country suppose to protect their citizen from their country, but in this case, government take their citizen's right and force to remove their nationality.

A letter from the Battlefront

Dec 20, 1941
To Mr. Hubert Willis
26, Rodfort Street
Bryan
Texas
Dear Mom, Dad Leslie and Barney,
I know you are all very worried about the ‘attack’ which happened in the early hours of the morning on December 7 at Pearl Harbor. I am writing to ensure you that I am fine. Although I was injured, I am recovering well. I am going to first tell you about it, before I talk about myself.
It was a Sunday morning I had woken up at 6 AM and dressed quickly in my shorts and shirts. I had promised Frank my commanding officer to be his partner at a doubles game of tennis. We played well and then decided to have breakfast in the Canteen. I had just ordered a large omelet with bacon, when Frank pointed in the sky, where a fleet of planes flying toward us. First time, I thought they were the ‘B-17’s from the West Coast. I wondered what they were doing up there. But suddenly I noticed something was wrong with those planes. I took the binoculars from Frank, and magnified to the size of planes. They were not the ‘B-17’s Instead of American flags, they had flags which were red with white stripes. Before I could tell Frank something was going wrong, those foreign planes started to drop bombs. Suddenly, Frank shouted “I think it’s the Japs! Run for shelter!” In a few seconds, our camp was filled with chaos. I ran, trying to reach my plane. But even before I reached my plane, I saw 51 ‘Val’ dive bombers dropped 30feet away from me. I stepped backwards, tried to run on other side. Then I heard a ‘BANG’ sound. Because of the huge explosion, I flew in the air. I was bleeding, especially my legs were horrible. I lay in the ditch for almost three hours. Many times I shouted for help, but my voice was drowned by the sounds of explosions near by. Finally I gave up hope and closed my eyes to pray. I saw two nurses looking down at me, when I opened eyes. I was brought to ‘Hickam Field’. I had surgery on my back and legs. The doctors told me I was lucky to be alive because I had lost a lot of blood but the chief Nurse Annie G. Fox donated her blood for my surgery. It’s almost three weeks since I have been in this hospital. I am surrounded by many wounded patients who are also recovering because of the hard work and time given by the nurse and doctors.
I am angry and upset about loss of lives and destruction caused to our army. Fortunately, our aircraft carriers, Lexington, Enterprise and Saratoga were not damaged because, they were not in port at the time of attack. The doctors, are going to release me tomorrow as they feel, I am fine. So, I will be attending the church service in memory of the service men and civilians who died for our country. I am very proud of Frank who died while helping people in the canteen to find shelter. On 17 Dec, we got a new Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. My leave starts from today, so I hope to be in time for Christmas.

Your loving
‘Walter’

P.S.: How is my dog Larry? I haven’t seen her for a year. Tell her that I love her. Also mom, please post a small gift and a letter of thanks to chief nurse Annie G. They both teach you some of the theme we learned about in class like ‘The more things change the more thing stay the same.’ But unlike the book, movie shows more specific details on each scene that book could not. For example, when there was a War of cowshed, in the book they just tell us that there was a War of cowshed, but in the movie they showed us how the animal defeated the humans, using what strategy. There is another example, in the movie they showed us how animal harvest the crop. Also In the book, they introduced Napoleon’s dog with amazement, but in the movie they showed how Napoleon raised all the dogs from when they were baby. Unlike the book, the movie didn’t show us much about the talking part, most of the time the movie only showed us the part where people would interest to watch. In the movie, they never mentioned about the Clover, female horse, they more mentioned about the Benjamin who was not very visible in the book. All these are differences between the book and movie but the there was one huge difference. The ending part. In the book, the book end up by fighting between man and pig, but in the movie, the movie end up with defeat of Napoleon by revolution from other animal.

My character in Animal Farm

I am mostly like Benjamin, there are three reason that support that I'm mostly like Benjamin. First, as Benjamin does, I don't take any side. In the book 'Animal Farm', Benjamin, the donkey is not close to Mr. Jones or human side but he also is not friendly with animal. He does not take joke, he never laughs. It seems like that he doesn't actually on one specific side clearly.
Secondly, he does not like to talk. In the book he doesn't talk to animal very much and does not discuss with them. Even though he has good idea in his mind, he doesn't share his idea out loud, he just keep it in his head
Thirdly, Benjamin does not try anything, when he realize if that thing wouldn't work.

Feed back January - Tyranny, injustice and self determination

In my own words,
Tyranny - Unfair use of power
Injustice - Not right things to do
Self determination - get their own right to choose something

These words can be example of the book 'animal farm'. In animal farm, animals' owner Farmer Jones whipped animal with many tools, but animals could not fight back with Farmer Jones because they didn't have enough power, the only thing they could do was protect their own body. This is example of Tyranny.
After when animal avoided the Farmer Jones, animal themselves divided their work, and did the work. But some animal such as cat, didn't work and hided inside the house and they only emerged at dinner, which was unfair. I think this action is an example of Injustice.
Before animals get freedom from Farmer Jones, none of the animal got their own right to do something. For example, pig don't want to provide ham to human but they had to.

WW1 peom with images

<img style="DISPLAY: block; On this poster many countries are sharing documents that represent power of the countries. I think this political cartoon shows us about what happened in many countries that had involved with World War and how did the war affected their countries. Accept some countries I think many countries might had lost many things because of the war. I think that two guys in the middle are strongest because they are shaking hand with many countries. If you look at the left side of the cartoon there is women who is crying, she is the only female. Also I think she is crying because maybe her country lost many things or defeated by other countries or women did not get their own right during the world war 1 ( Maybe that's why she is crying). If you look at the other side of the cartoon there is Italian guy who has sword. That sword represent either power of Italy or he is going to make a big war. If you move your sight to right, there is big guy who is smoking when his people busy to trading the document. This shows that during the world war 1, only high class people got most of the power. I think this cartoonist feels bad about what happen during the world war 1 also in order to make this cartoon more persuasive, he could have put some article or words that could his idea more clearly and help him to grab reader's attention. This cartoon is related to Great Power Game because this also cartoon shows they are fighting to get more power.
http://mrcoyle.edublogs.org/files/2009/01/alliances-cartoon.jpg

Great Powers Game Debrief

In the great power game, my country was Germany. At the begging of the game, I was excited about that I would build this empire by myself. But this wasn’t just easy as I thought. Because there were more than 8 countries and it was hard to make them to our side. Also some of the countries had the advantage to being success because they had enough industries, armies or navies at the begging of the game. If you have more industries or armies, you can attack small countries or spend some money on buying more industries rather then watch other countries developed. Fortunately Germany was a well developed country that already had some army to compare other countries. In the long run it was more important to buy more industries and colonies rather than armies and navies, because war didn’t appear very much and we shouldn’t had bought armies until 1905, I should had bought more industries so I can buy more armies in certain year when there is many wars. Being friend with other countries was very helpful to reach the goal, but draw up a document about an alliance wasn’t helpful because they could had break their promise and gone against you. My country had betrayed our alliances many times but it was one of our strategies, and it was very successful. From this game I notice in this kind of situation, I can not believe any one but myself, I learned industries, colonies are first to buy than armies and finally alliances are not trustful.

End of Quarter Two Feedback

At the end of first quarter, I promised to myself that I would read more books . During the Christmas vacation I had been reading book called 'temple tiger' which is written by Jim Corbett who was known as a good tiger hunter in India. It was a good book even though some of the stories are not perfect because Jim Corbett died before he finish those stories. I'm hoping it may improved my reading skill.

Three goal in this year:

Finish 'Temple Tiger' and take a AR quiz as soon as posible to see how accurately I read this book

Make sentences with my new vocabulary words to get use to it and improve my writing skill and vocabulary.

When I looked back my writing piece in my blog I could find many mistakes that I could not find before. With more than 2million tourists visiting each year, because European country took off all the natural resources from these two countries long times ago, now tourism is a major source of income for both countries. A Safari is an program for tourist to view Africa's wildlife. However Tanzania is still a poor country of mainly subsistence farmers, because of the limited soil and technology. Also in Kenya, Kenya's farming would endanger Africans wildlife. One of the Kenya's product is Geothermal energy, it is energy produced from the heat of Earth's interior. Even though their countries are built of physical nature, cities of Tanzania and Kenya's are well developed. In Africa there is unique destruction call Genocide, which is the international destruction of a people between hatred of Hutu and Tutsi in Rwanda. If you look at the coast region, there is something called 'The Horn of Africa' 4 countries are making this Horn of Africa. They are the Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti which located on the Red Sea and the Indian ocean. They called Horn of Africa because it resembles the horn of a rhinoceros.

Africa Current Event 3

Another news from Brundi. And the land that man took his step is very dried. This political map is might showing the imperialism in Africa. I think Cartoonist who drew this poster wants to tell European countries treated African countries very badly. Because when you look on the Africa, you might easily notice the footprint. This footprint must belongs to European. And the ground they took a step is dried up because during the imperialism period in Africa, many European countries sucked up all the resources and get rid of culture of Africa. Also the picture is dark and black so this shows the bad mood. Maybe cartoonist put some words or article to make this cartoon more persuasive.

Summary of History and Culture of East Africa

For almost a century, nearly all the countries of East Africa were colonized by many European countries. Many European countries controlled East African countries and they forced East African countries to trade their resources. When they traded their resources they also automatically traded their culture too. Christianity from the Europe influenced the lives of many East African. For examples, Christian missionaries from Egypt first introduced Christianity to Ethiopia as early as the AD 300s, and then about 200 years later Christianity spread into Nubia which is an area of Egypt and Sudan today. Early in the 1200s, a powerful Christian emperor called 'Lalibela ruled Ethiopia. He built 11rock churches during his reign. As you can see, European countries influenced the culture not only take the resources.

Refection - Scramble of Africa

When we were playing scramble of Africa, We got the France for countries. Our goal was to negotiate and created a process for the partition of Africa into European colonies or spheres of influence. But also European powers are interested in gaining access to raw materials and resources for their industrialization. In this case France was interested in gaining petroleum, iron and zinc and also desires colonies in order to develop a diamond industry to rival Belgium. France also wishes to slow down or stop thee expansion of the British Empire. At the beginning of the game, my group choose place for southern and southern east to build the first colonies, because there were lot of resources and mineral that France wanted. After the first round we kept add land of southern and southern east Africa , 50 percent for each. There was some factor we considered when we add our territory, we consider if neighbor around us might attack our land. I think green(France) won the game because they got the most of the land of Africa. Yellow(Portugal) lost the game because they got the least land they needed from Africa. During this game I got confused that our goal is to claim most of the places in Africa or gain more products they interested in.

Africa corrent event 2

This news is from Kenya. It's built with huge mountains, valley and and plain. One of the famous rift valley called 'Great Rift Valley' looks like a giant scar, these cliffs rise as much as 6,000 feet. Rift valleys are places on Earth's surface where the crust stretches until it breaks. Most rift valley form when Earth's tectonic plates move away from each other. East Africa also has many volcanic mountains one of them called 'Mount Kilimanjaro', rises to 19,340 feet, which is highest mountain in Africa. The mountain's peak has long been covered in snow. This high elevation keeps the low temperature to stays the snow same. There are many rivers and lakes that flew down from Nile river (longest river in Africa) along the drier eastern rift valley. Near the eastern rift, heat from the Earth's interior makes some lakes so hot that no human can swim in them. However seasonal droughts are common in Africa. During this period, crops, plant and animal die and people began to starve. But North of the equator, areas of plateaus and mountains have a highland climate and dense forests. Temperatures in the highlands are much cooler than temperatures on the savanna, and this mild climate makes farming possible and people automatically move to another place for farming.

TBAS - can we trust?

I cna trust the impormation from TBAS because firstable, this book is A newbery honor book. I got the one of the big news from Tanzania. This last updated at 18:12 GMT, Thursday, 2 October, 2008. The title of Article called “Albinos in Burundi flee killing”- On Thursday in Ruyigi, Burundi, four of Albinos moved to a provincial centre under police’s protecting. After this, Authorities had arrested six people who related to murder of an albino girl in August. The Assaulter, who in connection of this crime killed 26 Tanzanians in less than a year, A BBC correspondent's investigation there revealed that witchdoctors were behind the killings. They sought Albinos their body part to make potions what they emphasized that could make people rich. A man and a teenager girl, two of the Albino killed in Burundi, appeared their body with missing legs and arms. Police reported the tip of the girl's tongue was also removed. Neighbors of another teenage albino girl killed in Ruyigi in August chased away her attackers, six of whom were later came to retrieve her body parts when they got arrested by police. Police revealed that they were planning to sell the body parts in Tanzania. Our correspondent says that albinos in Burundi, estimated number around 200 are now living in fear for their lives, right now.

I choose this article that I considered as a news. My reasons are Emotions, progress and Reference to something negative. When you just look at the title automatically you might feel scaredand fear. And I thought it will make readers to want to read this article. When I finished reading article I hope there will be more development of albions safety in Burundi which will be progress. Also this aritcle is basically negative. I make me to read this article.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7649420.stm

5 Themes of Geography

As you can see this picture shows the Chinatown. And this violence leads to more violence. Because after the Caesar's death Antony, Octavius and many citizens took revenge for Caesar's death. Which was making a civil war again. This war finally end by killing the Brutus and Cassius, give them huge pain. Which was more violence. Killing of Caesar leads to Civil war and killing more people such as conspiracy and poor innocent people who don't deal with anything about killing the Caesar. This "Violence leads to more violence" situation can appear around you easily for example if you hit somebody without any reasons or purpose (which is violence that cause more violence) that person might get really mad to you, and gets satisfied by hitting you back. Which more violence.

Brutus’ Dilemma

If I am Brutus during this period, I would choose and work for Rome instead of my royalty to friend Caesar. Because basically royalty to Caesar is privacy problem between Brutus and Caesar but work for Rome is very big issue and it could effect various number of people in Italy. Also I think all the appearance of supernatural omens of bad fortune happen because of the Caesar. Because Caesar wanted to be a king instead of predated the republic. On act 2 scene 2 pg. 59 Brutus says 'Alas, good Cassius, do not think of him! If he love Caesar, all that he can do is to himself-take thought, and die for Caesar. And that were much he should;for he is given to sports, to wildness, and much company" on this quote Brutus is talking about that even Mark Antony doesn't like caesar. Imperialism had three primary motivations. They were for gold, glory and gods. Imperialism happened because of the Industrial Revolution and from western countries, such as England and France looked for more lands and labor. So they choose four big different places. They were southeast Asia, India, Two sides of Africa. Even they are different places, European all looked for these four places because they had lot of natural resources that will support the making the products, such as sugar, coffee, cocoa, rubber and fruit. Then it was easy for them to treat the workers because they were lot cheaper, eat less and work hard. Not only they made products, they also spread their culture like how do they live and it cause the changes of better schooling in Southeast Asia (which was actually good effect). Also plantation and farming on each four places cause growing of population. Sometimes, wars appeared in certain times and places because ideas from Western and Southeast Asia were different and made violence. As you might noticed, All these four places got common or simular motivations, methods, and changes during the Imperialism.

End of Quarter 1 Feedback

At the beginning of the first quarter, I made a goal that I will read many books. On this picture, a Big fat man is shaking little skinny man. On big man shirt, it say 'Capitalism' and little guy labeled as 'Labor'. This cartoon is showing us how capitalism effected labor during the Industrial Revolution. As we see big man is stealing little guy's money. The man who labeled as 'Capitalism' is incredibly fat and big because he eat food and buy stuff by money from poor labor. This tell us capitalism effected labor very badly during the Industrial Revolution. This cartoon give us very strong feeling about how bad was capitalism on the other side. Maybe if big man is shaking a child instead of adult, it could give us more strong feeling

Quarter 1 Goals Update

In the beginning the year we out personal goal. Buy or sell the companies . But it wasn't easy as I thought. I knew how business is hard. We didn't know which company's cost will increase. So I lost my money many times. I felt happy when I gained some money and I felt sad and annoyed when I lost lot of money(obviously). In Mr.Coyle's tips, my best tip was second one ' You must spend money to make money' First time when I heard this, I didn't understood but during the game I could understand it. When you play, sometimes you lost lot of money. So you might think don't buy any company. But that doesn't help you. I knew that in order to get rich you need to spend enough money. But this time we choose the best one and make lot of them as commodity in the factory. We follow the process of factory. For example we were the worker(laborer) we made assembly line and some people cut out the picture and some people color them and some people glue them. It worked very well, it took shorter time and it was lot more easier than people make their own. But there was big problem, we were very busy to making the product but we couldn't took a rest because otherwise management of factory fired us. I think during industrial revolution, it might be tough for workers and it's lot unfair to workers.

Factory Game Day 1 Reflection

When Mr.Coyle gave us the paper that drew circles, glue and scissor, I couldn't understand what he was trying to do. Which mean it’s getting closer. Red polished roller coaster coming in to the station. I see that vehicle releasing the safety device. It's showing that it’s my turn to ride. I feel exciting but also little bit scary. I sit on the black leather chair, safety device hug my shoulder and chest. “Rang~~~” red siren ringing. It’s going to start. I see the rail pointing the sky. Our vehicle going up, up and up. And now I don’t see the rail. Oh! We are going down~~. My blood running through the bloodstream hastily. My heart beating faster! Oh no! it’s too fast! I can’t see the things in my front. The strong and sharp wind whipping my face. It’s hurting. When I open my eyes, I am realizing that every things over. I sigh deeply and leave the station. I don’t have any strength on my two legs to hold my body.

Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Meaning of the mother of necessity, The mother of invention : The famouse inventor such as Edison, couldn't made such a significant inventions if his mother wasn't their. I got useful help to learn English by reading books. When I read books I find some words that I never seen before and if I work on it for little bit often I memorize the meaning of the words easily. Also sometimes I get problem to understand the story of the book because I don’t get picture in my mind of story also I don't understand the words. But If I watch movie of that book, it becomes easier for me to get picture in my mind. To Mr.Coyle, maybe you can show us some outsider movie to make us understand some important facts I should know it.

Quarter 1 goals

In first week of my school. I got many feelings. Also I got some highlights. One highlight that is computer in library . It change to very good and nice model, and it gets faster internet. And monitor got larger. My another highlight was some of the new faces at the beginning of the year. I mean the new students. There wasn't many new student in this year, but I still feel umcomfortable to the new students.

My first impression of Humanities was exciting. Because this was my first time to having a Humanities class. And I was exciting to meet new teacher and classmates.

I have two goals of this quarter in Humanities class. One is higher my reading level. I know it is a very obvious goal but I think reading is the best way to improve your English skill. When I read books I see some of the words many time as some of the words are not. If I make sure rememer the defintion of these words, I think it would affect me a lot to learning the English. Another goal is watch and listen more TV, radio or movie that is in English. Which is going to improve my listening skill. If I watch or listen them 15 hour in a week it will help me.

My Gangs

My gangs, is my hidden card. Good tighten friendship always connect us and never seperate us from each other.Sometimes we don't agree with each other, but that's fine. When I was in Korea, one day, my best friend and I forgot to do our class homework from school. But I was not desperated because there was my friends, who can share our pain. I can't live with out their friendship and they can't live without my friendship. That is my gang.
